JIGSAW

‘Jigsaw – Connecting God’s Big Picture’ is a complete 6–year Sunday School curriculum.

Lots of activities
Lots of activities

It was researched and written by Julie Currie (Hillsborough Parish) and a team of children’s leaders.

Jigsaw uses teaching, memory verses, prayers and activities which make up the bigger picture of God’s love and His plan for our lives. It includes All–age service outlines which help Sunday Schools to share what they’re learning with the rest of the church family.

The curriculum comprises two 3–year cycles and you can start at any point in the course.

Jigsaw has proved hugely popular with Sunday School teachers and is widely used, not only in our own diocese but in many other parts of the Church of Ireland.

Here’s what our Sunday School leaders have said:

“Jigsaw has brought improved structure and cohesion to our Sunday Club. We really like the themes which run in 4–week blocks which helps to reinforce a message rather than jumping from lesson to lesson. Having so much material prepared along with the Pinterest site makes our job as Sunday Club leaders so much more enjoyable. Most importantly, the kids are really remembering the stories. At our end of Y2 quiz, we were delighted to see how much of the year they remembered.”
Julie Chandler, Belvoir Parish

“I love that I have everything I need – from registration forms to take–it–home sheets to help with the admin side of things! There is a very comprehensive Pinterest board which gives you even more resources to help with your session including DVD clips and extra crafts and worksheets. Julie and her team have put so much thought into the planning of this amazing resource and the children in my Sunday School have really enjoyed and benefited from being a part of it!”
Diane Bailey, St Saviour’s Dollingstown

“We were so pleased to be introduced to the Jigsaw curriculum by Julie. We have to say it is amazing and we don’t know what we would do without it now. The curriculum itself is so easy to follow and includes everything a lesson would need – memory verse, songs, games, Bible blast, prayer time and of course craft (our kids’ favourite part!). It doesn’t matter how long your session is: an hour, half an hour etc. You can tailor it to suit your needs.”
Cathy Allen and Jane Beatty, St Marks, Newtownards

Jigsaw is available free to Down and Dromore parishes and can be used across a variety of church contexts. Parishes outside the diocese can buy the whole package – the book and access to Dropbox – at a cost of £60 for each year. All proceeds go to printing the course books.
