Diocese of Down & Dromore

For years, the Maridi Family Centre has been a lifeline for women and families, offering trauma counselling, vocational training, youth engagement, and support for young couples. Run by the Mothers’ Union, it has empowered hundreds of women to rebuild their lives and generate income, all with minimal external funding.

Tragically, the centre now faces demolition due to a government road expansion project, and no compensation will be paid. The community is at risk of losing not just a building, but a vital hub of healing, learning, and hope.

We urgently need to raise £40,000 to build a new, permanent centre in a safe location in the cathedral compound.
