Saturday jobs at Belfast Cathedral

Belfast (St Anne’s) Cathedral are seeking to employ three Saturday workers on a seasonal basis.

Belfast Cathedral is a place that attracts visitors from all over the world. They come for many reasons: to enjoy beautiful worship, experience stunning architecture and artwork, or simply to enjoy a quiet space for prayer and reflection. We are keen to open our doors once again on Saturdays from the end of March, and so we wish to recruit new team members to fulfil the following roles:

Role 1: Welcome Desk Assistant – Hours of work: 10.00am to 4.30pm (£12 p/h)

Brief description of the role: working as part of a team to provide cover at the Welcome Desk, welcoming and engaging with visitors in a courteous and professional manner, operating the till for admissions and shop purchases. Some light admin and stock taking, any reasonable duties as required. Full training will be provided. Role 2 & 3: Facilities Operative – Hours of work: 9.30am to 5.00pm (£12 p/h)

Brief description of the role(s): working as part of a team to facilitate the operation of the Cathedral as a busy visitor destination including ensuring public areas are kept clean and tidy e.g. corridors, toilets etc. working with event organisers to ensure smooth operation of their events / programmes. Skills & Qualifications: good basic level of education including English and Mathematics grade C or above (GCSE Level) or 2 years relevant work experience. Good communication skills, ability to work on own initiative, works well as part of a team.
