Youth and Children’s Resources for July

Summer has arrived and our Youth and Children's Department have some suggestions to keep everyone busy in July.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Holiday Bible Club

Our customisable Holiday Bible Club is here! All the material for 'FORKY’S GREAT ESCAPE . . . from the ordinary to the extraordinary' can be accessed on Dropbox here: Forky's Great Escape 2020.

You can organise this Holiday Bible Club in whatever way suits best as all the elements we’ve prepared are separate – talks, reflection time, quiz, prayer activities, craft activities etc.

Run it as a one–off HBC or on 6 weeks of Sundays (or week days) the last being a drive–in cinema where the families watch toy Story 4 with treats and an epilogue.

Julie can take you take you through the material via zoom, just request a meeting with her via email.

The promo video is online here: Forky's Great Escape HBC

In association with DDYC and The Church Lads Church Girls' Brigade (CLCGB)

YOUTH MINISTRY

Reflections from the Woodpile

The eleventh of a weekly video bible reflection series for young people exploring the Sermon on the Mount is now available, you can find it here. This one discusses Matthew 6: 19-24, Treasure. This is the last one for a few weeks.

This can be used for young people within the parish as part of your Sunday worship or as a discussion starter within a zoom youth gathering. Download the script and questions for reflection and discussion here.

Reflections on lockdown

We want to hear from young people and youth leaders on what lockdown has meant to them.

Lockdown has brought unprecedented changes to our lifestyle, our interactions with others and what we consider normal. Each experience is also unique and important.

We have created a form here by which young people can give us their perspective Through these responses we want to build up a picture of experiences of lockdown that we can share and learn from. There is the option to give a name or not, to have what you submit be used publicly or not. There are a number of ways to respond this. There are set questions to answer, you can also submit photos, drawings, journaling, poems and videos by uploading onto the form here. Please share this opportunity widely.

DDYC Minecraft Realm

Our DDYC Minecraft Realm is underway and has been having good interaction. For young people to be involved parents must fill in an online permission form (download here). From there the young person will be invited to join the realm.
