Pioneer Ministry (Church of Ireland)
A new chapter in the Church of Ireland’s mission to reach people with little or no connection to church was formally launched in February 2023.
Pioneer Ministry was created to encourage, support and release volunteer and paid pioneers and new ministries to share the good news of Jesus Christ in new places and in different ways.
The initiative, led by a National Director, the Revd Rob Jones, is endorsed by the House of Bishops and has been generously funded by the Representative Body.
Down and Dromore currently has five pioneers in training:
Nevin and Lorraine Anderson (2024) for Bridgeway, Warrenpoint
Tim Burns (2024) for The Suitcase Project
Natalie Trainor (2024) for The Grove, Newry
Andrew McCaw (2025) for The Gathering Youth Ministry
