Bishop Paul

Paul Donison is Rector and Dean of Christ Church Plano, Texas. Originally from Canada, he was ordained in 2004 and served in several Canadian parishes before moving to Texas in 2016 with his wife, Monika, and their four daughters. In 2023, he was elected as General Secretary of GAFCON by the Primates, and in 2024 was consecrated as a Bishop. He also serves as Vicar General (Area Bishop) for the Texas Deanery of the Anglican Diocese of the South.

Bishop Paul’s ministry is marked by a distinctive mix of pastoral care, theological depth, and creative communication. Before ordination, he trained and worked as a professional stage actor, and still often memorises and dramatically tells the Scriptures when he preaches. His academic background includes a B.F.A. in Theatre, a Dp.C.S. and M.Div. from Regent College, and doctoral work at Trinity School for Ministry.
