Diocesan Bible Course begins with almost 100 students
The Diocesan Bible Course has begun with almost 100 people from 36 churches joining classes in Dollingstown and Ballybeen this week.
St Saviour’s Dollingstown is hosting the course on Tuesday evenings, while a second group meets at St Mary’s Ballybeen on Wednesdays.
Experienced and enthusiastic tutors are teaching the material at each location: Revd Stu Armstrong and Dr Keith Gardiner in Dollingstown; and Dr Peter Crookes and Mr David Manning in Belfast.
Both classes have begun Module 1, The Time Has Come, which surveys all 27 books of the New Testament and explores the life of Jesus and the early years of the church.
It is the first of three 10-week modules, each of which stands alone, so new students can join at the start of the next module and catch up on what they have missed the following year.
But it is not just the Bible study and discussion that make the evenings so worthwhile; they also offer a wonderful opportunity to make new friends over coffee.
We wish all our students a blessed 10 weeks and hope that many will continue on to Module 2!
