Christ Church Ardkeen set sights on World Record!
Summer may be in full swing, but the people of Christ Church Ardkeen are already turning their attention to Christmas - and to an ambitious Guinness World Record attempt for the largest collection of nativity sets displayed in one place.
“The current record stands at 2,150,” says Revd Melanie Houston. “It's a big ask but we’re going to go for it this November, and we’d love help from right across the diocese.”
Alongside the world record challenge, parishioners hope the event will raise much-needed funds for the Church Restoration Project.
How can you help?
Do you have a nativity set you would be willing to lend or donate? It can be old, broken or new - and if you need it returned in time for Christmas, that will not be a problem.
Are you crafty? Could you make a nativity set for the parish to sell to raise funds, or lend one to be returned after the event?
Local businesses are also invited to get involved. Every nativity set will be displayed with a credit to the donor, making this a wonderful opportunity to support a local church and share your business name with the community.
Craft, youth and community groups may also like to take part by creating a nativity set as a group project.
If you can help in any way, please text or WhatsApp Michelle on 07484 867006, or send a message to the Christ Church Ardkeen Facebook page.
