Forty-one graduate from Diocesan Bible Courses
The Diocesan Bible Course has finished for another year with 41 graduating from the classes in Banbridge and Belfast.
Congratulations to our successful students who received their certificates from Bishop Harold and Bishop David respectively on 17 June, the last night of term.
All had completed the 3-module 1-Year course which ran concurrently on Wednesday evenings in Banbridge Parish (19 students) and St Mary’s Ballybeen (22 students, pictured above).
The course was taught by three experienced and enthusiastic tutors in each location: Bishop Harold Miller, Revd Stu Armstrong and Dr Keith Gardiner in Banbridge and in Belfast, Dr Millie Bellew, Dr Peter Crookes and Mr David Manning.
We are grateful to them for giving so freely of their time and talents.
Once more, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Here are just some of the comments:
From Ballybeen participants
“Thanks to Peter, David and Millie, our enthusiastic, well-prepared course leaders, I feel as if I am taking an incredibly interesting history class. It has deepened my understanding of many aspects of my faith and given answers to questions I have had in my mind for years. For the first time, I feel enthusiastic about reading the Old Testament”.
“Before this course, everything was like black and white, but now it’s being coloured in.”
Referring to the break for Christmas – “I’m addicted to studying the Bible now - what am I gonna do for the next three weeks?”
From Banbridge participants
“Gives a great overview of the Bible and the connections and historical content link together in ways I’ve never known before.”
“Absolutely would recommend it. Sitting in the company of like-minded Christians making your way through God’s word.”
“I enjoyed all 3 tutors who all brought different angles to the learning experience. Very relaxed and easy to learn the content.”
Next year
We plan to run the course again next year in two venues - St Mary's Ballybeen and St Saviour's Dollingstown. Why not consider joining a class?
