An emotional farewell to Terence and Alison

On Sunday morning 10 May, Seagoe parishioners gathered to say farewell to their Rector, Canon Terence Cadden and his wife Alison, who served the parish as Musical Director.

It was an emotional day for many, yet there was an overwhelming sense of gratitude in the packed church for the ministry of Terence and Alison, and for the lives they touched over twenty years in Seagoe.

During the service, Terence and Alison prayed for Seagoe, as they laid down their ministry, entrusting themselves and the people of the parish to God’s care.

Also involved in the service were Terence and Alison’s daughters, Hannah and Sarah who gave the Bible readings, and Ruth who sang a solo.

At the end of the service there was a presentation made to both Terence and Alison, and their daughters, thanking them as a family for their years of faithful service.

Afterwards, parishioners were invited for refreshments in the hall, and many took the opportunity to personally thank the couple.

In the evening, Terence and Alison joined with the congregation of St. Patrick’s Killicomaine for a final service of Holy Communion. There was a large crowd there, who turned out to wish them well, and there was a time of fellowship after the service.

We wish Terence and Alison every blessing in retirement.

With thanks to Revd Stuart Moles, Curate Assistant in Seagoe Parish
