40 years of faithful service: Thank you, Tracey Taggart
We almost managed to surprise our colleague Tracey Taggart this morning with a little party to mark her 40 years of service to the Dioceses of Down and Dromore and Connor.
Aged 16, Tracey Briggs joined the diocesan staff in Talbot Street as an office junior in the days of Bishop Gordon McMullan and Bishop William McCappin. Mr Neil Wilson was the Diocesan Secretary for both dioceses and with his guidance Tracey learned the ropes.
Seven years later she began to manage the registry and, with expert tuition from Canon Edgar Turner and Archdeacon Philip Patterson, became the constitutional expert that she is today!
Eight years into the job she met a certain Reverend and went on to become Mrs WilliamTaggart.
Six further bishops have led the dioceses since Tracey joined however, following the administrative changes of 2017, she has worked solely for Down and Dromore, latterly as Bishop David's PA.
I'm sure you will join us in thanking Tracey and celebrating the professionalism, grace and integrity that she brings to her role.
Tracey, what would we do without you?
