Prayer meeting with our link diocese of Multan
It's hard to believe that Diocesan Synod in June will mark the third anniversary of our link with Multan Diocese in Pakistan. One of our commitments was to pray together online and we were delighted to have that opportunity on Thursday 19 March.
Eighteen attended over Zoom and Archdeacon Mark Harvey began the meeting with a short reflection on Isaiah 11. Bishop Leo told us that the Taliban are active against Pakistan because of the country's past alliances with the US and Israel. So, while not directly affected by the current war with Iran, this seems to have been a backlash from Afghanistan. The northern area of Pakistan is most affected, with a high risk of suicide bombings at schools and places of worship. Security is on high alert.
