Diocesan Youth & Young Adults Officer appointed
We are thrilled to announce that Andrew McClelland has been appointed as our new Diocesan Youth & Young Adults Officer. He will join the team at the beginning of May.
Andrew has been a full-time Youth and Children's Worker for the past 17 years, beginning with ministry in Saintfield Parish before taking up his current role in West Church in Bangor.
Andrew says: "My heart is to follow where God leads, share the Gospel, draw in those on the periphery, and serve His Church faithfully.
"It has been an absolute joy to help lead young people to Christ and walk alongside them in their faith. More than anything, I long to see teenagers develop a faith that lasts a lifetime, not just a season."
Andrew is originally from Coleraine but now calls Bangor home. He is married to Laura and they have a daughter named Rose and a Labrador called Mabel.
"Outside of ministry, I recharge by listening to music and playing guitar. I love making homemade pancakes and pizza, and there's nothing quite like a beach walk or a hike — especially with the family and Mabel in tow.
"My daughter tells me I have a terrible sense of humour... but I'll let you decide that for yourself when we meet!
"I'm genuinely excited to be joining the Down and Dromore team. This move is very much by the leading of the Holy Spirit, and I step into this new role with real anticipation. I would deeply value your prayers and support as I settle into the role. Thank you so much."
