A practical prayer becomes a practical gift

On a Sunday in late January, the congregations of Clonallon and Warrenpoint with Kilbroney prayed, as they always do, for Women’s Aid and the women and children they protect and care for.

"We also prayed that Sunday that God would somehow use us to help,” says Vicar, Revd Andy Hay. “The very next day, Armagh and Down Women's Aid reached out as their refuge kitchen needed replacement dining furniture. Between the united parishes, we were delighted to be able to help and cover the costs of what was needed."

On 17 February Andy, the Revd Elizabeth Hanna and parishioner Evelyn visited the refuge for the official handover of the beautiful new tables and chairs.

“It was a very special occasion for us as God used us in answer to our prayers. It was also a privilege to meet the wonderful, dedicated workers and volunteers of Women's Aid in their most beautiful and fresh dining area.”
