Christmas Greetings from Bishop Moses and Maridi Diocese
Bishop Moses sends his thanks and Christmas greetings on the 36th Anniversary of Maridi Diocese in South Sudan.
Dear Bishop David
Grace, mercy, and peace to you from God our Father and from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
As we draw near to the celebration of the Nativity of our Lord, we warmly extend our heartfelt Christmas greetings to you and your families. We give thanks to God for your lives, your faith, and your steadfast partnership in the Gospel.
On behalf of the Bishop, clergy, and faithful of the Episcopal Diocese of Maridi, we sincerely thank you for standing with the Diocese throughout the year 2025. Your prayers, encouragement, financial support, and solidarity have strengthened our mission and sustained the Church in times of growth and challenge. Truly, your partnership has borne lasting fruit for the Kingdom of God.
We are pleased to inform you that today, 17 December 2025, the Diocese of Maridi will joyfully celebrate its 36th Diocesan Anniversary. This historic occasion will be marked with special thanksgiving prayers and major ministerial milestones, including:
the ordination of sixteen Deacons;
the ordination to the Priesthood of ten candidates, and
the licensing of nine new Lay Readers for ministry in the Diocese.
The theme guiding our celebration is drawn from Jeremiah 3:14–15:
“Return to me, O backsliding children, says the Lord… and I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
This theme reflects our prayer and commitment that God may continue to raise faithful shepherds after His own heart to lead His people with wisdom, integrity, and love.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ—the Good Shepherd and Light of the world—we humbly ask you to continue praying for the Diocese of Maridi: for our newly ordained and licensed ministers, for peace and stability, and for the growth of God’s mission among His people.
May the joy, hope, and peace of Christmas fill your hearts, and may the New Year bring renewed strength and abundant blessings to you and your ministries.
With gratitude and prayers in Christ,
+Bishop Moses Sete Zungo
Bishop, Episcopal Diocese of Maridi
