The Well, Castlewellan, is officially launched
The Well, the new diocesan church plant on Main Street in Castlewellan, was officially launched on Friday evening 7 November. The team have been working hard since the summer to renovate the shop unit for ministry.
Revd Pat Kerr, Trevor and Lorraine Brimage warmly welcomed friends, supporters, local church members and volunteers with light refreshments and the opportunity to see how this commercial unit has been fitted out.
Trevor and team have done a tremendous job to create a café area and worship space as well as areas for youth games and crafts.
Lorraine opened the celebratory worship service with words of welcome, before explaining the vision of The Well, and interviewing volunteers and those engaging with The Well’s programmes.
Trevor and his friends in the band led us in contemporary worship. Bishop David read from John chapter 4 - the story of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan women at the well at Sychar - before Pat preached on this Bible passage.
Trevor closed the service with prayer before there was more chat over pizza, chips and buns.
