Summer Workshop invests in young worship leaders
We’re thrilled that 20 young people from across the diocese have just completed DDYC’s two-day summer Worship Workshop. This was our third such workshop giving young leaders the opportunity to explore what it means to lead worship with heart, skill, and confidence.
Experienced musicians and worship leaders Simon Burrows (Holywood) and Jude Frame (Knocknagoney) once again coordinated the training with the help of a team of instrument and sound specialists.
Across the two days the young people had hands on teaching time and learned more about who we worship, why we worship, and how to lead others in musical worship.
They also learned how to do a sound check and in smaller groups had a go at writing a worship song.
The workshop ended with a fantastic showcase where families came along to watch the group lead four worship songs that they had worked on together and their brand-new song based on Psalm 145.
