Festival draws the crowds to Kilmore & Inch
As part of the diocese's Speak Jesus initiative Kilmore and Inch combined a hugely successful LEGO Festival with a special invitation to church.
“We knocked on over 2000 doors to invite the community and over 680 people attended over the two days of the Festival in mid-June,” said Revd Claire Aylward, Priest-in-charge of the grouped parishes.
“Courtesy of a local enthusiast, we put on a huge LEGO display in the church with the LEGO Bible stories playing on the screens and an opportunity to engage with interactive prayer which many participated in.
“Outside there was a bouncy castle, performances from our puppet ministry and lots of refreshments. Everything was free.
"We had some great conversations about faith, and everyone received an invitation as they left to "Give Church A Go" Sunday the following week. Some did come to this service, praise the Lord.
"It was a wonderful, joyful weekend for all."
