Supply chains under threat…

Day after day, there are new stories about shortages of fuel, carbon dioxide, computer chips, timber, food and even toys due to global and national supply chain problems associated with Brexit and COVID–19.

The government has responded by making short term exemptions from the Competition Act, introducing emergency visa schemes and drafting in the army to transport fuel.

There is an even more important supply chain which has also been under threat due to COVID – the supply chain of eternal truth. The church has been entrusted with the responsibility of sharing the eternal truth of the good news of Jesus with the next generation, with our families, friends, neighbours and work colleagues. Just as the government has responded to the threat to the country’s supply network, members of the church, as trustees for the handing down of eternal truth, also need to respond by taking action to maintain the most important supply line.

We all have a role to play as guardians for passing on this eternal truth – whether it is generously giving of our time and skills volunteering in the frontline ministry work of our churches, financially supporting these ministries, praying for the extension of God’s Kingdom or sharing our faith with others through our actions and words. Please speak to your church leader about how you could become more deeply involved.
