Our week of online events is underway

Our ‘Strength for the Task’ series of online events got off to a great start last night with David Collum, CEO of The Pocket Testament League

David outlined a simple (but often not easy) way to share Jesus with strangers by giving away copies of the Gospel of John. He reminded us of the gospel imperative to go and make disciples and encouraged each of us to find our own way of doing this – our ‘personal work’.

David told us many stories of how God had given him ‘divine appointments’ and emphasised how we need to “leave room for the Holy Spirit to do the heavy lifting of the human heart”.

Having talked about this personal work, part 2 at 7.30 this evening will look at how churches can share God’s word. David will offer practical ways to do this with lots of encouraging real–life examples.

Please also consider joining us on Zoom for the remaining three events:

Wednesday 19 May at 7.30 pm: Minds Matter

Tim Burns will host an evening with Patrick Reagan and Sara Allen from the mental wellbeing charity Kintsugi Hope. Patrick will share Kintsugi’s vision and purpose and encourage parishes in supporting those in our midst who struggle with mental wellbeing.

Saturday 22 May from 10.00 am: How much more?

We’re thrilled that John and Anne Coles have agreed to lead a day of retreat that will take place over four, hour–long sessions (with breaks) in the morning and afternoon. The theme for the day will be the refreshment, rest and the refilling of the Holy Spirit. John and Anne led New Wine England for many years. John is a canon in St Paul’s Cathedral and now in retirement both are sought after speakers.
