Eleven confirmed in Killinchy

Congratulations to the eleven candidates whom Bishop David confirmed in Killinchy Parish Church on Sunday 16 May. They included father and son, Richard and Patrick Cooper, father and daughter, Niall and Olivia Little, and sisters, Emily and Scarlet Fox.

Bishop David preached on the confirmation theme for this year ‘The Good Life’ and called on the candidates to live as distinctive followers of Christ.

The first lesson was read by Liberty Molloy and the second lesson by Scarlet Fox. Diocesan Youth Officer, Tim Burns, led the congregation in prayers of intercession. The organist at the service was Mr Peter Burrowes whose father was a onetime Rector of the parish.

As well as receiving a DDYC goody bag, the parish presented the confirmees with copies of the Book of Common Prayer along with Bible reading notes. They were also given some savoury treats and doughnuts for their post–service celebrations at home (pictured below).
