A fantastic Light Night at Movilla Abbey

Over 950 people streamed into the grounds and halls of Movilla Abbey Church on Saturday 2 November for a fantastic night of family fun.

This is the fifth ‘Light Night’ the church has staged for the local community. It’s a mammoth undertaking and this year the team were delighted to welcome Movilla Presbyterian on board for the first time.

The churches laid on vintage fairground games, live music, a superhero costume contest, crafts for the kids plus mountains of burgers and apple crumble and custard. The evening ended with a fireworks display.

The good news of the Gospel was also on offer. Special guest Nick Harding gave a five–minute interactive talk from the stage, the Street Pastors were on the ground and trainee Diocesan Evangelist Luke McCallum and Joel Pullin from Willowfield were also mingling with the crowd.

Luke said: “We were walking around chatting to people and praying that God would be here and he was. There was a really great atmosphere the whole night and a good mix of people We did get to pray with one group in particular and we’ll continue to pray for their situation.”

Congratulations to all the volunteers who put on a such a fabulous event!
