New Pastoral Assistant for Donaghcloney Parish

Revd George Okikiolu has joined the Parish of Donaghacloney as Pastoral Assistant with responsibility for youth, children and family outreach.

George is originally from Nigeria, but has lived in Belfast for over 7 years, working with St. Jude’s Parish Ballynafeigh as the Outreach worker and Pastoral Assistant. He is married to Sharon, his wife of fifteen years, and they have two boys.

George says: “We are a family that knows the Lord and trust in Him in all things. While in Nigeria and at St. Jude’s we were actively involved in Church life and ministry. Our vision is to see people coming to know Christ as we have known him and to see ministries in the Church grow, making disciples of Christ in the Church and community.

“I love football, singing and playing musical instruments, and now that we have moved to the countryside, I am open to take up a new hobby, possibly rugby or cricket, but I don’t know how well I’ll do!

“We are thrilled to come to Donaghcloney Parish to serve the Lord and the people of the Parish using our gifts and calling in proclaiming the gospel of Christ faithfully and to disciple young children and families in the Lord.”
