Module 2 of our Diocesan Bible Course begins on Tuesday 4 October and is open to new registrations – you do not need to have attended Module 1.
This course is for Christians at any stage on their journey with God who want to know more about the Bible and how it relates to their lives. No prior theological knowledge or qualifications are needed!
It will be particularly useful if you have responsibility for teaching the Bible as Sunday School teachers, youth group leaders, small group leaders, evangelists, church planters or lay readers. This course will lay a foundation for further theological training.

Where and when
We meet on Tuesday evenings at St Donard’s Parish Centre, 2–10 Bloomfield Road, Belfast, BT5 5LT, from 7.30–9.30pm (including a coffee break). Parking is available.
MODULE TWO: 4 October – 6 December 2022
COST: Each module costs £30 (payable on arrival at the beginning of each module).
The course is taught by Josh Hooker. He is a Crosslinks Mission Partner, who has been teaching the Bible in southern Africa for the past 17 years. He is currently involved in teaching and training in the Diocese of Down and Dromore.
In this 10–week second module we will survey all 39 books of the Old Testament. With an eye on the history of Israel, we will move book by book through this part of the Bible. We will look at the way the Old Testament has been organised and examine the different types of literature we find there.
An important feature of this course is our conviction that the Old Testament remains important for Christians today. In fact, that it is Christian Scripture. The Old Testament is the Word of God that points us to Jesus. Even though this part of the Bible is largely neglected by Christians we will see that we neglect it at our peril. If you don’t know Noah from Nathan, then this is the module for you!
