Church will be happening – but not as we know it

Digital church will be happening across the diocese tomorrow Sunday (22 March). Please do check out your parish Facebook page and/or website to find out when your service is happening and where and how you can tune in.

Bishop David will be the preacher at Down Cathedral’s live–streamed Service of Morning Prayer. The service is at 11.00 am and, thanks to the Cathedral’s webcam channel, you will be able to view it at this link.

Some parishes are already broadcasting midweek – Shankill Parish Lurgan is posting the Late Evening Office on Facebook Live – and on Sunday, Holywood Parish will combine digital and analog by both broadcasting and inviting parishioners to drop by the church building and pick up a Mother’s Day pot plant. These will be placed outside or in the porch and all social distancing and hygiene guidelines will be closely observed.

TV feature

Church is also happening as we connect with our communities through leaflet drops, doorstep visits and phone calls. Donaghcloney Parish was featured on UTV Live last night (Friday 20 March), talking about their plans. Watch again at this link which will expire this evening. The segment can be found at 25:00 minutes.

Wherever you are this Sunday, as you join in worship, may you know God’s blessing and presence.
