All ready to go after another Children’s Praise Party

DDYC’s Children’s Praise Party on Saturday was competing with a certain royal wedding, the FA Cup final, the Balmoral Show, the North West 200 and beautiful sunshine, but we had a great turnout and just as much fun!

On this Pentecost weekend the theme was ‘Ready to Go’ and encouraged the kids to get powered up with the Holy Spirit to do God’s work in the world.

Our guest speaker, Christine Shanks (Children’s Worker from Shankill Parish Lurgan), talked to the children about sharing the good news of Jesus whilst Laurence Bellew and his band led the worship.

All the kids had a chance to visit the activity stations around the hall. There was creative prayer, an airplane craft, a chance to try your hand at puppeteering, a cinema and snack room and lots of bouncing around with the Lifeguards programme.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was when 3 young girls from Shankill Parish (above) took the microphone and told everyone how they had been prompted to share Jesus with their family and friends. Well done girls!

As always, there was a competition and the super hero prizewinners this year came from Maghaberry, Sydenham, Donaghcloney, Holywood and Willowfield.

Thanks so much to Julie and the team and to Moira Parish for the use of their Parish Centre.
