Martin Lewis endorses CAP on morning TV

Christians Against Poverty is passionate about releasing people in our nation from a life sentence of debt, poverty and their causes. They work with the Church, including within our diocese, to bring good news, hope and freedom.

Here’s a recent message from Chief Executive, Matt Barlow:

We’re having a bit of a moment here at CAP. For the past ten years or so, TV’s Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has been recommending us and it really is an extraordinary thing.

Martin Lewis, twice named the ‘most Googled man’, has been voted the UK’s most influential man in retail. Twelve million people subscribe to his weekly email of tips, advice and deals because he is able to make finance matters so clear. There are companies so desperate to be linked with Martin Lewis that his legal team are always busy with people faking look–a–like websites and misquoting him in their promotional material.

Yet he plugs CAP because he knows first–hand from his followers just how effective our service is. People tell him that they can now sleep at night. He’s even helped fund our service.

Watch the clip, and know that after this aired, our freephone number was jammed. Calls included a widower in his 70s who broke down on the phone describing all he owed. Thank God he is now linked up with his local CAP Debt Centre, as are many others.
