Church updates resource on supporting asylum seekers and refugees
The Church of Ireland Refugee Working Groups (Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), have updated their resource on supporting asylum seekers and refugees.
As refugees become more fully integrated into their new local communities, opportunities will present themselves for Church of Ireland people across the island to offer welcome and practical support. This 2nd Edition is intended to be informative and encouraging and highlights opportunities to become more involved in this area of ministry and service.
The resource includes a summary of the Church’s support for asylum seekers and refugees, definitions and statistics, a section on responding to fear, and information on work undertaken by ecumenical networks and associated missionary societies.
