Death of Revd John Gowen
The Revd John Gowen, NSM, has died. John was ordained deacon in 1987 and priest in 1989. He served in the Diocese of Down and Dromore, not only in his home parish of St Finnian’s, Cregagh, but also in the Lecale Group, Stormont and Knock.
Bishop Harold said:
“I had the privilege of being with John, Fay and the family a few hours before he died. John was ordained later in life as an NSM and celebrated 30 years of his ordination very recently. He was a gentle gentleman, and thoroughly valued the privilege of ministry. He has entered into the joy of his Lord.”
The funeral will be on Monday 31 July at 11.00 am in St Finnian’s church, Cregagh, followed by cremation at 1.00 pm at Roselawn.
