Confirmation services in Belfast, Moira, Banbridge and Bangor

Confirmation season has started again, and thus far it has been excellent!

The theme for this year is ‘For we are God’s Masterpiece’, based on Ephesians 2 verse 10.

The new season began on Sunday, April 2 in Seapatrick, Banbridge, where 14 young people from the parish were confirmed.

Then on April 7, candidates from St. Donard’s Parish, Belfast, were joined by their counterparts from St. Finian’s Parish for another great evening during which a further 14 people were confirmed.

Easter Sunday – what an apt day for confirmation – was a memorable occasion at Bangor Parish which made an outstanding job of hosting those from the Bangor Abbey, Carnalea, Groomsport and Ballyholme parishes.

Some 31 candidates from across the generations were confirmed.

On Sunday, April 23, St. Saviour’s, Craigavon joined St. John’s in Moira for the confirmation of 28 candidates.

While all of the services have been unique, what they have had in common is the fact that each has felt like a real celebration via the warmth of the welcome, the nature of the service itself and the reception afterwards.

Numerous cups of tea and coffee have washed down some of the finest desserts, to say nothing of the first barbecue of the year! So thank you to everyone who has been part of the confirmations to date, and, in advance, to those who will be involved throughout this season.
