About Us
The Present
Since its foundation as a parish, St Columbanus Ballyholme has creatively blended worship, pastoral care and outreach, touching many lives for God along the way. With a view to taking the best of the past into the future, the parish undertook a multi–faceted consultation exercise early in 2009. The objective was to garner opinion on the future growth and development of the Parish with a view to setting aims for the run up to 2015, the 1400th anniversary of the death of St Columbanus. A range of fundamental questions were discussed in a variety of forums and many opinions were offered. This led to a Parish Vision Statement, subsequently adopted by the Select Vestry.
The Future
Under Christ our three Parish aims for 2010–2015 are:
GROWTH – To encourage more people to grow into the life and worship of our Church
CONTINUITY – To seek new ways to pass on the blessings we have received to others at home and abroad.
SERVICE – To work together with the other churches in Ballyholme to serve our local community. The Vestry affirms these goals as obedient to the twin commandments of Jesus to: ‘Love God with all your heart and soul and mind and love your neighbour as yourself.’ (Mark 12:13); and to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations.’ (Matthew 28:19)
Please, come and work with us towards these goals, and remember them in your prayers.
