Diocesan Cycle of Prayer

February 2012

St Clement’s Belfast– 5 February
Rector: Vacant

  • For the discussions with the Diocese regarding the future of St. Clements
  • For the Revd Percy Patterson who is caring for the parish pastorally and leading the worship most Sunday Mornings. Also for Captain Gary Roberts who is leading worship on Sunday Evenings
  • For the Prayer evenings and Study Group on the 1st and Second Wednesdays of the month. Pray that these will go from strength to strength and help draw the parish together in the vacancy period
  • Please pray for the Sunday School teachers who so faithfully teach a small number of children week by week

St Donard’s Belfast – 12 February
Rector:
Ken Higgins

  • Pray for our ENGAGE@10am – this is our informal Family Worship.  We give thanks for the number of young families connecting with us through this.  We pray for more to deepen their regular commitment to coming along and also that new families will be invited to our once a month ‘Messy Church’ slot at this ENGAGE service
  • Pray for us as a church as we seek to know the way forward for redevelopment of a Parish Centre.  We are experiencing structural problems with our existing hall and this will have to be replaced.  Various options are open to us – pray for God’s guidance and envisioning for the parish at this time
  • Pray for us as we develop a mission link through CMSI with Shyogwe Diocese in Rwanda.  We have a three year development plan.  Pray that as a church we will get behind this link and deepen relationships with the people of Shyogwe
  • Pray for our Lenten series on Spiritual disciplines – Prayer, Fasting, Giving, Service, Worship.  Pray for a deepening of faith as we journey towards the cross

Stormont – 19 February
Rector: David Humphries

  • As the 50th anniversary of the consecration of the church approaches, please give thanks for fifty years of worship in this beautiful building
  • Pray that the people may always make a real effort to worship the Almighty in spirit and in truth, and also that visitors may be inspired to worship
  • Pray for the continuing efforts to increase the sense of fellowship within the parish family
  • Give thanks for the development of the Healing Ministry within St Molua’s, and pray for its continuing development

Sydenham – 26 February
Rector: Francey McCrea

  • That members of our congregation would be drawn into a closer walk with the Lord Jesus
  • For our children and young people that they would grow in the knowledge and love of Christ
  • For the teaching ministry in the church. That people would be built up and equipped for service
  • Our prayer team as they continue with the prayer walk throughout Sydenham, praying with residents regarding their needs
