Bannermaking/Crafts/Painting/Boxercise are a number of activities which support fellowship and Christian community. The hall is a hive of creative industry and female (so far) chatter that is now making a habit of producing the most beautiful and interesting seasonal banners for the church. These ‘younger’ women are now producing craft items which they hope to sell to make money for favoured charities. Some bring their children along and they take it in turn to supervise them in the hall on Tuesdays at 7.00pm. Their next enterprise is Painting classes and an Ulster Woman Artist, Blanche Pepper who is a parishioner has agreed to take them. Again, thinking holistically, Boxercise is designed to keep the body fit and healthy. The MOTHER'S UNION. This Year’s theme: Your Gift? Discover & Celebrate’ The purpose of the Mothers’ Union is to be especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. The aim of the society is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of family life, so its objects are: • to uphold Christ’s teaching on the nature of marriage and promote its wider understanding • to encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the church • to maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service • to promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children • to help those whose family life has met with adversity These objects are achieved by: • developing prayer and spiritual growth in families • studying and reflecting on family life and marriage and its place in society • resourcing members to take practical action to improve conditions for families, both nationally and in the community in which we live. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
