New Youth Worker for Mount Merrion Church
Mount Merrion Church, Cregagh, has just announced the appointment of a new part–time youth worker, Laura Stevenson.
Laura grew up in Dollingstown and, together with her family, took an active part in life at Shankill Parish, Lurgan.
On leaving school she studied for her degree in adult nursing at Queens before completing a certificate in theology at Belfast Bible College.
She has a passion for working with young people, especially disadvantaged girls, and says:
“My heart is to see a group of young people who want to make a change and difference in their culture. Who know who they are in Jesus, their freedom is contagious, their passion is attractive, they know life to it’s fullness and they are carriers of hope that give others the courage to be who they are created to be.”
In her spare time Laura loves drumming and photography.
Laura officially starts on 4 October so please keep her in your prayers as she seeks to build relationships with the teenagers in the local area as well as in the church.
