Moira’s Bible Club kids have fun exploring the New Testament

St John’s Parish, Moira, has just run a hugely successful holiday Bible Club using a Scripture Union resource called ‘Polar Explorers’.

With the help of Sir Random Finds and Bare Feet, the children became explorers who went on a mini–expedition each day and learned about a New Testament character. Through the lives of these people, they discovered that no one is too anything to be part of God’s big expedition, that is, to be a friend of Jesus and go out and help other people be friends of Jesus too.

The club ran in the Parish Centre from 10.30–12.30 for 5 mornings and averaged about 165 children (those going into P1 to those just finished P7) each day. Simon Henry and his team provided lots of fun, games, songs, drama and Bible stories and as you will see from their Facebook album and the happy photo below, they had a marvellous time!

Moira’s club is just one of those running in the diocese this summer. Julie Currie is with the Lecale Group each evening this week from 6.30–8.30 pm, facilitating a ‘Letsgo’ Holiday Bible Club in Down Parish Hall. St John’s, Lurgan, is running a club from 10 August and bothKilkeel and Kilmore & Inch from 17 August. On Thursday 13 and Friday 14 of August, Carryduff Parish is having its ‘Great Treasure Hunt for Kids’ and from 6.00 – 7.30 pm each evening 10–14 August, Polar Explorers will on expedition in St Saviour’s Craigavon.

Please pray for all the children and leaders involved and if we’ve missed you out, please let us know!
