Bryansford young people mark ‘Sea Sunday’

Children’s Day at Bryansford was a little different this year as we celebrated ‘Sea Sunday’ with our special guest, Revd Colin Hall–Thompson, Senior Chaplain from the Mission to Seafarers in Belfast (pictured below, back row, centre).

As well as participating in the service, our young people had sourced numerous items with local connections to the maritime industry and decorated the church in preparation for Sunday worship. Colin was able to paint a picture of life at sea for the modern mariner and shared with us examples of the many challenges seafarers and their families must endure.

Colin may well be welcoming us to his Mission centre at Belfast harbour if the organisers of our Sunday School outing have anything to do with it!

We owe a huge debt to the millions of men and women working in the maritime industry and on ‘Sea Sunday’ churches all over the world come together to remember and pray for them, their families and supporters.
