A big weekend for Glen Community Church
The Glen Area in Newtownards came alive during the last weekend of June when the team from Glen Community Church spent the weekend showing their LOVE of Jesus; their LOVE for others; and definitely their LOVE for life!
Saturday 27 saw the team for the first time step out from behind the safety of the school or the community centre to do a ‘Party at the Park’ beside the local play park, in and around a marquee.
Tattoos, penalty shots, face painting, crafts, balloon modelling and teas and coffees as well as that all–important burger brought out a few hundred people to enjoy the company and the craic! The local ice cream van even appeared to offer the kids a free ice cream!
God was good providing the excellent weather and bringing loads of people to share in His love that day.
Sunday 28 was the very first Children’s Gift Day at the Glen with 33 prizes being awarded for children’s attendance on a Sunday morning and Thursday nights! What an encouraging start to the kids ministry at the Glen.
This service was followed by a picnic at Crawfordsburn where again the sun shone and many got soaked on the beach.
The weekend was concluded on the Monday with a Prayer Walk around the area seeking God’s blessing, care and protection over the area as we reach the long summer evenings.
