Travelling Roadshow makes its final stop!

Julie Currie, Tim Burns (and Brandy) will be in Ballyholme parish tonight for the final of their 5 Travelling Roadshows.

Meeting in Seagoe, Ballywalter Belvoir and Crossgar, the team has sought to equip and encourage those who lead children’s and youth work, not just in their ministry but in their personal faith as well.

‘We’ve also made the training as accessible as possible by going to new locations in the diocese, rather than choosing the usual centres. The local response has been terrific,” says Julie.

Each roadshow begins with 2 separate workshops:

  • Planning a youth night – what that looks like and what should be included
  • Taking a Sunday school session – when Julie models all the elements of a Sunday School class

And then everyone comes together to look at praying with young people and children in creative and interactive ways. Finally, the team shares some simple ideas about how to take faith into our families.

Down and Dromore’s Youth and Children’s Department is committed to equipping and resourcing our parishes as they work with children and young people and on 13 June will run another ‘Essentials’ Training Day. More exciting news on that to come!
