South Sudan – Bishop Justin asks for our prayers

Please pray in response to this request from Bishop Justin in our link diocese of Maridi in South Sudan:

Dear friends

Greetings to you all in the Lord’s name. As you all might have known that this month there has been heavy fighting going on in the three States of Upper Nile, Unity and parts of Jonglei.

Last week on Friday, we also tested this in Western Equatoria State. The town of Mundri which is about 69 miles East of Maridi on the road to Juba is now affected and people are in dispersion. Some have come to Maridi and others have gone to Yei and many others have remained in the bushes arround. The government troops are in control of the town now after it being captured for one day by the opposition forces.

The road between Juba and Maridi is temporary closed now for about a week. The only road still functioning is the Maridi Yei road.

Pray with us that this situation may not expand to other towns in Western Equatoria State.
