Fantastic Prizes on Offer at Kilmood Fete this Saturday

A luxury break for two at the Slieve Donard as well as a luxury break for two at La Mon Hotel and Country Club are just two of the fantastic prizes on offer this Saturday (9 May) at the Kilmood Fete. The Grand Prize Draw will take place at Kilmood Church Hall as part of the traditional fete.

Other prizes include £100 Pure Day Spa treatments, Meals for Two at Balloo House and the Poacher’s Pockter, £50 Crafty Fox and Rockmount Golf Vouchers, £30 Killinchy Meat voucher plus family passes for W5, Streamvale Farm, Funky Monkeys, Dundonald Ice Bowl, the ‘Deadly Dragons’ exhibition at the Ulster Museum, the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and Castle Espie. KFC have also sponsored the prize draw by putting up ‘Chicken Cheques’ as prizes. Entry into the Grand Prize Draw is just £1 and tickets are available by email (killinchy@down.anglican.org) or on the day.

At the fete, there will be lots of traditional stalls like plants and shrubs, home produce and cakes, arts and crafts, new and nearly new to name but a few. Jim Quinn will be on hand to demonstrate the art of soda bread making and Killinchy Silver Band will be there to provide musical entertainment.

There will be lots of activities for the children as well including an animal corner, a bouncy castle, chocolate fountains, candy floss, popcorn, fairground stalls and a fancy dress competition (11.30 am). Children will also have the opportunity of getting their photo taken with Elsa and Anna from Frozen. This year there will also be a Dog Show at 12.30pm with prizes for all breeds and sizes.
