Intern opportunities in Willowfield Church

A variety of intern opportunities are on offer in Willowfield Church, East Belfast.

Children’s Work Intern

As a Children’s Work Intern, you will be under the supervision of the lead Children’s Worker. You will be working with children on a Sunday and at other mid–week events which you will help to plan and run. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in our schools work, planning and running after–school clubs (including Friday night Kids Klub), reaching unchurched kids in the community. As a Children’s Work Intern, you will be a key player in helping to realise the team’s aim of enabling children of all backgrounds to connect with God in a meaningful way.

Youth Work Intern

As a Youth Work Intern, you will be under the supervision of the lead Youth Worker. You will have the opportunity to get involved in the lives of 11–20 year–olds both in the church and outside in the community. You will help to lead and plan the youth programmes, be part of the youth detached work and schools programme. You will get to facilitate small cell groups and build strong relationships with the young people.  You will be able to see the potential that this generation has and encourage them to reach out and take hold of what God has promised them for the future.

Worship Intern

As a Worship Intern, you will be under the supervision of the Worship Co–ordinator and be involved in all aspects of the worshipping life of Willowfield Church. You will be trained and equipped in how to prepare and plan for Sunday worship and gain experience from leading/playing in lots of different environments. You will learn what it means to be part of a larger worship team as well as gain experience and get a better understanding of the technical aspects behind leading worship in a local church. You will be involved throughout the year in the running of various training events, team nights, Alpha and other opportunities around Ireland through the work of New Wine. You will be mentored throughout the year and given both spiritual and practical training to empower you in your gifting.

A worship intern does not necessarily have to be able to vocally lead worship, but must be musically competent with their instrument and have a passion to encounter God in worship.

General Intern

As a General Intern, you will be under the supervision of the Intern Programme Co–ordinator.  Your role will be to assist in practical, ministry and outreach aspects of the church. Practical areas will include admin, leaflet drops, etc, ministry areas will include prayer ministry, youth work, Kids Church, etc and outreach areas will include community outreach programmes, detached work, etc.  Due to the nature of the position, you will need to be willing to be challenged and stretched in your faith and commitment and have a servant heart.

The next intake for the Programme starts on Monday 14 September 2015, so if you are interested in being part of this exciting, life–changing Programme, please request an Application Pack from james@wpcabelfast.co.uk.
