Lurgan Parish honoured to host anniversary service for Glenavon FC
St John’s Church of Ireland, Lurgan, has been invited to host a service to celebrate Glenavon Football Club’s 125th Anniversary.
The parish has forged strong links with the club as part of its community outreach and there are many supporters in the congregation. Some members of the board have spoken in St Johns and teams of parishioners have provided tea and coffee and face painting for children at Glenavon matches.
A warm welcome awaits officials, players, ex players, supporters and friends on Sunday 22 March for the service at 6.30 pm and supper afterwards. The special guest speaker will be Revd Paul Whittaker (Former Chaplain) and the offering will go to ’Care in Crisis’ which is the club’s chosen charity.
