Confirmations and a whole lot more!
There’s lots of terrific work going on in Down and Dromore amongst our youth and children. The first confirmation service of 2015 has just taken place in Annahilt and Magherahamlet and over the St Patrick’s Day weekend we’ll be having our Confirmation Youth Weekend in Castlewellan Castle (13–15 March).
This is a chance to look more closely at the confirmation theme, ‘New Life in Christ’ from 2 Corinthians 5:17 but we also explore basic faith and discipleship which makes the weekend suitable for young people aged from 12–16 years. That sounds a bit heavy but be assured that there’s a lot of fun in the mix! Please do pray for this year’s confirmation candidates.
Julie Currie is already getting ready for the 2015 Children’s Praise Party in Moira on 16 May. Last year we had 265 children and 80 leaders singing, puppeteering, drawing, sticking, watching, shouting, winning…you get the picture?
Skipping over Catalyst and Summer Madness to the Kilbroney Adventure Camps in August, for the first time there will be a J.A.M Camp at Kilbroney (P6 and P7). Please consider sending your upper primary kids for what will be a brilliant weekend over 15–17 August.
