The Dock Cafe tops the list on Tripadvisor!

Congratulations to The Dock cafe in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter has been ranked #1 of 742 restaurants in Belfast on the Tripadvisor travel website

It has received 5.0 of 5 stars from 33 reviews with glowing comments such as:

“Gem – perfect location–delicious food”
“Belfast at its best”
“Can’t give enough praise”

The Dock is an ‘Honesty Box Cafe’ – in which the coffee, fresh buns and hot soup are offered with no price tag – just faith in the goodness of people and trust that they will pay a fair price into the Honesty Box. That faith has kept the doors open and the shelves stocked for 18 months, and as far as we can ascertain we remain the only exclusively Honesty Box Cafe in the world.

The cafe has been furnished completely through donations of furniture, artwork, sculpture and shipyard memorabilia, creating a funky, eclectic atmosphere full of talking–points and conversation starters. Everyone involved is a volunteer – many of them local residents and students from the college.

The Dock exists to build Life in the Titanic Quarter – heart and soul amidst the concrete and steel of this fantastic new development in Belfast’s historic shipyard.

Here’s a one–minute taster for the full–length DOCKumentary coming later this Summer – the story of The Dock, the honesty box cafe, and the birth of Life in the Titanic Quarter.

Or read Chris’s blog for the story so far…
