Death of Archdeacon William Macourt
It is with sadness that we announce the death of the Venerable William (Billy) Macourt (retired Archdeacon of Down). His funeral service will take place on Saturday, 19 July at 11.30am in St Molua’s, Stormont.
On hearing the news of his death Bishop Harold said: ‘Billy Macourt was a unique archdeacon. He served in that role from 1980 to 1989 and was a mine of information. He had a long and happy marriage to Esmie, who predeceased him two years ago. Our love and prayers are with Malcolm, and all who were close to him’.
