Death and funeral of Archdeacon Philip Patterson
Our beloved friend, Philip Patterson, died late on Sunday night in Knockbreda Rectory. Eleanor and all the family were gathered in their home, and Philip had the joy, in his last days, of holding his new grandson Toby in his arms.
It is entirely impossible in the midst of our shock and grief, to make any immediate tribute to the full and profoundly Christian life of Philip Patterson, but what must simply be stated at this point is that I and the whole diocese will miss him more than any words could convey. Please hold the family, the parish and the diocese in your prayers. Christ is risen, and all in Christ are secure in his eternity!

The funeral of our friend and colleague, The Ven Philip Patterson, Archdeacon of Down, will be at 11.00 am on Thursday 9 May in Knockbreda Parish Church.
Please note that only the two clergy leading the funeral will be robed.
