The idea is that we as Church people will make a very special effort to invite others to come to Church with us on Sunday 25th September. In particular we will be thinking of those who have slipped out of Church life for some reason. We aim to have a variety of services which will range from traditional formal services to informal contemporary services so that we will have something to a variety of different preferences. We also plan to have other events to bring people to. These may include a Parish lunch, an afternoon tea party and an evening event. We will update this information as details fall into place. Further information from Terence. www.backtochurch.co.uk ArkAlive http://www.downanddromore.org/index.cfm?do=events&eventid=939 2010-08-30T11:04:44Z September 2010 will be the month where we begin to reach out to young families to encourage them to focus more on God on a Sunday with our new brand of family worship. Launching ArkAlive: young families worshipping together it starts with a tea and toast welcome in the Parish Centre from 11am and it all begins on 19th September! This will be followed at 11:30am with an INformal...INspiring...INteractive worship session IN church! This promises to be lively and welcoming even for the very youngest members of our parish family. We will have a space appropriate for the babies and toddlers with an ark leader present to engage with them with stories and activities. The Ark Kids (primary school age) will continue with their ark sessions during this service, whilst the YouthArk groups will also have opportunities to express and explore their faith. We will also aim to meet the needs of nurturing the young adults too with Bible Based teaching and learning. So... Are you IN? INformal...INspiring...INteractive...and IN church! Prayer for revival, 13th September http://www.downanddromore.org/index.cfm?do=events&eventid=938 2010-08-27T19:42:56Z

Divine healing ministries logoThere will be a special service in St. Anne's Cathedral, Belfast on Monday, 13 September 2010 at 8.00pm to pray for the revival of the faith here in this land.

This is part of a programme of seven years prayer for revival, which began in June, 2009 and is organised by Interdenominational Divine Healing Ministries.

In recent years there has been quite a drift away from the Christian faith in this country.  This prayer initiative is geared towards bringing faith alive again.  Brother David Jardine, director of Divine Healing Ministries and one of the organisers, says,

"'I have been moved by the books of a Bishop from Uganda, Festo Kivingere, who looking at his country and continent in the mid 1980’s and all the turmoil going on said that it is Christ’s revolutionary love that Uganda and Africa desperately need to bring radically new relationships between clans, tribes, nations, races, political parties, and ideologies.  I believe that that is what we need in this country as well; that it is only a revival of our Christian faith and love that will provide the answer to our social, political and spiritual problems."

MINDSET for youth leaders is back http://www.downanddromore.org/index.cfm?do=events&eventid=946 2010-09-02T12:35:22Z

Mindset MINDSET is an interdenominational 'Youth Leaders Training & Support Network', for anyone passionate about communicating God's Word to young people. Johnny Beare, Youth Leader at St Elizabeth's Church, Dundonald, invites you to come along on Tuesday 14th September 2010.

"Can you believe that the summer hols are almost over? I hope that all your summer plans have gone well, and that many young people have come to faith and grown in faith through the ministry of camps, clubs, events, mission teams that many of you will have been involved in.

This September 14th 'MINDSET' is back and we hope you can join us! Throughout 2010/11 we will have some vastly experienced Bible teachers helping us through a series titled 'Christ in All the Scriptures'. As youth leaders we are convinced that we should be teaching the whole of the Bible to our young people; but how do we teach the Old Testament and continue to point our young people to Jesus Christ?

This month Gary McMurray will help us delve into Genesis 3 and the verses that Martin Luther called, "the first proclamation of the gospel". In the second half of the night (after some grub!) we will be considering together some good and some bad reasons for being involved in youth ministry.

It would be super to see you, and others from your church, along at MINDSET. If you have any questions about MINDSET please do not hesitate to get in touch. Further information about MINDSET can be found at the event website."
