A new publication compiled by Canon Brian Mayne entitled ‘After Communion – A Commentary on the Postcommunion Prayers’, is to be launched on Wednesday 11 January 2012 at St John’s Parish, Malone, Belfast at 4.00 pm.

The book, which is published by Columba Press, focuses on the Postcommunion prayers in the 2004 Book of Common Prayer. Canon Mayne, who has also written the annual booklet Sunday and Weekday Readings produced by Church of Ireland Publishing, says of his latest publication: ‘After Communion tells the story of how the Postcommunion prayers – a new feature in the 2004 edition of the Book of Common Prayer came about. A short paragraph gives the source of each prayer and a sentence sums up the thrust of the prayer.’
